I've always loved to hear how many women identify themselves... "I'm just a mom", or "I'm a business woman". As I've gotten older I've come to realize that, as a woman, I am more than just the sum of my 'parts'. So while I could say, I'm a wife, I'm a mother, I'm a photographer, I'm a daughter, etc., I'm finding that the real insights come from my 'undefined' parts.
My ongoing (and one might say, unattainable) goal in life is to maintain perspective -- on life, on love, on family, on finances -- in just about every way possible. Yes, quite a lofty goal, I know. But it is a goal that helps to keep me grounded. It affords me the ability to see life from the oftentimes unforgotten viewpoint. It's that perspective that I bring into my photography - capturing what might not seem like the perfect shot often ends up providing the most insight into the joy (and sometimes frustration) of what life is offering in the moment. Vivid reality and treasured moments... the best stuff in life.
