The highlight for me was by far is the Visual Arts Exhibit. It is a huge exhibit of photography, painting, sculpture, digital arts, etc. The entries are…  Whenever I meet people for the first time and they find out I’m a professional photographer, the conversation usually goes one of two ways… THEM: What do you do? ME: I’m a photographer. THEM: “Wow! I’d love for you to take pictures of my family!” (Sometimes I get, “Wow! You must have a really great…  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE landscape photography. It’s not that I don’t love portraiture… I do. But there’s something about being outdoors, capturing something that you find beautiful — it makes you feel like you have a place in the world. I think it also has to do with the lighting… at the right time of… I think I’ve spent more time in camera shops over the last six months than I did at Baby’s R Us before my daughter was born (I think that place still has my picture up on their bulletin board as the “Biggest Sucker for Plastic Toys in Primary Colors”).
